REFESTICON21: International award Golden Dragon to Adrian Tchaikovsky

British writer Adrian Tchaikovsky is the winner of the Golden Dragon, an international award for contribution to the development of fantasy and SF literature for 2021.

This award will be presented at the 9th Regional Festival of Fantastic Literature REFESTICON 21, which will be held in Bijelo Polje (Montenegro) from June 24 to 27. Representatives of the organizing committee of REFESTICON, some of the previous winners of this award and representatives of partner festivals from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia voted for the nominated writers and promoters of fiction.

The explanation states that the Golden Dragon for 2021 belongs to Adrian Tchaikovsky, a multi-award winning author for works of fantasy and science fiction. Among others, he is the winner of the BSFA Award for Best Novel Children of Ruin (2019), the British Fiction Award for Best Novel Tiger and Wolf (2017), and the Arthur Clark Award for Science Fiction Novel Children of Time (2016). Special consideration was given to his contribution to regional festivals by participating in Sferakon in Zagreb and Eurocon in Rijeka.

REFESTICON is organized by Radio Bijelo Polje, co-organized by the Public Institution Ratković's Poetry Evenings and a partnership of the NGO Academy of Social Sciences.
